Vagator Sea Beach, North Goa
Vagator is one of the finest beaches in North Goa due to its increasing capabilities of tourist’s accommodations and the facility of a safely night stay. The beach is located at Bardez Taluka about 9 km away from Mapusa and 23 km from Panaji. It is placed at north-most point of Bardez on the opposite bank of Chapora River close to the Chapora Fort. Anjuna Beach is just 3 km south to the beach.
Vagator Beaches conclude with three individual beaches namely the Big Vagator or the North-most part of the beach, Middle Vagator also known as Tel Aviv beach and the Little Vagator (Ozran Beach, Mini Vagator). Big Vagator and Ozran Beach are divided by a small rocky headland which makes a distance about 3 km between two beaches. Vagator Beach is mainly visited by a large number of foreign tourists (particularly from Israel).
Vagator Beaches are not perfect for water sports but very famous for its lovely views and comfortable night life. There have some beach resort and restaurants which are stay open 24 hours particularly in winter from mid-November to mid-February. During the tourist season, some restaurants like, Nine Bar, Hilltop (party every Sunday), etc organize special dance and music parties with the DJs from several European countries.
Sea water of Big Vagator Beach is safely for swimming. You can hire a boat to reach any other famous beaches of north Goa (Anjuna, Calangute, Chapora, etc) from Vagator. Some popular activities around the Beach are evening shopping, sunbathing, visiting to neighboring beaches with a boat, enjoining dance & masti at night and many more. There have a parking zone at the top of Vagator Headland to serve you a better holydays who travel here with personal car.
Climate at Vagator Beach
The climate of Vagator Beach remains hot and humid except in winter and receives heavy rain due to the proximity of Arabian Sea. Best season is winter when temperature stay pleasant.
Summer at Vagator: Usually, this season persists for a long times (late-February to June) at Vagator Beach. Temperature may reach up to 36°C with a high humidity in May. Average temperature during this season is about 30°C.
Monsoon at Vagator: Usually, monsoon is continued from June to September at Vagator Beach. Due to the proximity of Arabian Sea this city receive heavy rainfalls and some thunder storms during this season. Average annual rainfalls of Vagator are approximately 290 cm.
Winter at Vagator: Usually, winter season of Vagator Beach persists for a short terms (late-November to February) with a pleasant temperature. Average temperature during this season varies from 16°C to 28°C.
How to reach at Vagator Beach?
Travel by Airway: There have only one Airport in Goa located at Dabolim about 49 km away from the Vagator Beach. It is an international airport and the international flights from the country of Qatar, Dubai, Sharjah, Kuwait, Britain, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, and the major cities of India are available here. Travel by Roadway: Vagator beach is located about 23 km away from Panaji and 10 km from Mapusa. Mapusa Bus Station is the nearest station from Vagator Beach. So, you need to first reach at Mapusa then travel to Vagator with local transports.
Travel by Railway: Nearest rail station of Vagator Beach located at Thivim (Thivim Railway Station) about 10 km away close to Mapusa. After reach to this station make a journey to the beach.
