Palolem Sea Beach, South Goa

Initially, Palolem village was mainly frequented by native fisherman, but now the people of the village are also included with profession which related to tourism. The main city of South Goa, Margao, is located about 36 km away from Margao and 71 km from Panaji or Panjim. Palolem Town is also close (around 32 km) to Karwar Town which is placed in Karnataka state.

Palolem is one of finest beaches in Goa located about 2 km away from Chaudi Market in Canacona Taluk of south Goa. It is a little suite beach have a coast line of 2 km (approx) long in on the bank of Arabian Sea. It is also called as a beach of Paradise due to its beauty and popularity by both the locals and foreigners. The beach is surrounded with lots of greenery coconut trees and the both ends of it consisting with rocks jutting.

Main attraction of the beach is a hilly island adjoining to the north of the Palolem Beach which is called as Monkey Island. The island is mainly covered with lots of small vegetations. The sand of the beach is white and slight heated by solar beam which is perfect for a barefoot walking across the beach. Swimming and water sports are also harmless at the beach due to the gradual increasing of sea depth and lesser waves during tourist season.

Night stay at the beach during full moonlight is so enjoyable which makes a feeling of heaven. There have lots of beach resort will be opened up to midnight (3:00 am) during season from November to February. You will discover lots of attractions in and around Palolim Beach like, the Dolphins convoys, charming sunset and sunrise, Church on the right side, Dudhsagar Waterfalls (highest falls in the world), Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary and Agonda Beach (19 km north).

Palolem Beach is quite narrow where several beach resorts placed adjacent to appearance end of high wave of the sea which makes sometimes difficulties to walk through the beach. It is best to walk across some rocks during low waves and reach to Monkey Island. New married couples can make their Honeymoon at the beach, as the beach is safety for night stay and you also get all the facilities as your require.
