Colva Sea Beach of South Goa

Colva Beach is located at Colva Village in the Salcete Taluka of south Goa, approximately 7 km away from Margaon and 41 km from the capital city, Panaji. It is the longest beach in Goa with a coastline about 24 km long between the beach of Betalbatim (by the south) and Benaulim (by the north). You can easily reach at the beach via Margao which is the center city of south Goa.

This beach is become more crowded at the weekend and during the winter season (especially November to February) by the locals and few foreigners. October month also become crowded the beach due to festival of Colva Church. This beach has lots of space to perking yours cars, so you can make a trip with your won car at Colva Beach.

Colva is one of the best beaches in south Goa which is perfect to perform water sports like Jet Skiing, snorkeling, Swimming, Dolphin Spotting, speed boat riding, etc. Remember, you must not be allowed to swim outside the Safe Zones which marked by Red & Yellow Flags. Taking a barefoot walk at evening in moonlight is very enjoyable and romantic at Colva beach. Mid-night visiting may be harmful to you at the beach. There have some night clubs like Ziggy's Night Club and Johnny Cool's which are opened till 10:00 pm, so, go back to hotel before 11:00 pm is best.

Climate at Colva Beach

The climate of Colva Beach remains little hot and humid except in winter and it receives a heavy rainfalls due to the proximity of Arabian Sea. Best season is winter (October to March) when temperature stay cool and pleasant.

Summer at Colva: Usually, this season continues for a long times (March to June) at Colva. Temperature may reach up to 36°C with a high humidity in May. Average temperature during this season is about 26°C.

Monsoon at Colva: Usually, monsoon is continued from June to September at Colva. Due to the proximity of Arabian Sea this city receive heavy rainfalls and some thunder storms during this season. Average annual rainfalls of Colva are approximately 296 cm.

Winter at Colva: Usually, winter season of Colva Town persists for a short terms (mid-November to February) with a pleasant temperature. Average temperature during this season varies from 17°C to 26°C.

How to reach at Colva Sea-beach?

You can go to Margao directly by roadway or railway from Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. It takes around 12 hours from Mumbai to reach here and about 10 hours by trains. You can also make a flight to Goa airport first to reach Colva Beach.

Travel by Airway: Colva Beach is located about 27 km from away Goa International airport of Dabolim. You can catch a bus or hire a private car from outside the airport root to reach at Margao Bus Station. After reaching Margao you easily access the beach by any local transports.

Travel by Railway: Margao Raiway Station is the nearest station located about 7 km away from Colva Sea Beach. Outside the railway station you will get lots of local buses and auto-rickshaws with a minimum charge.

Travel by Roadway: You will find a frequent Bus services after every 15 minutes from Margao bus station and reach at Colva. Usually, Auto rickshaws link the Colva market to Municipal Garden at Margao.
