Arambol (Harmal) Beach, North Goa
Arambol village is located about 49 km away from Panaji and 30 km from Mapusa in the Pernem Taluk of north Goa. This is a Hindu predominant village and maximum of them are involve with the profession of fishing. There have two sea beaches in the village; first one is called as Arambol or Harmal Beach placed at north end and another is a tinny beach which is not so crowded.
Arambol Beach is considered as a peaceful destination and it usually become crowded during tourist season between November and February, and weekend by both the locals and foreigners. The beach is surrounded by a small rocky headland to the north which is covered with lovely vegetations. After crossing the headland you will discover a new beach wich is known as Paliem or Kalacha Beach. You also found here a sweet water lake which is perfect for swimming.
Major attractions and activities in and around Arambol Beach are the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Charch, Vagator, Anjuna, Keri, Dolphin convoys and taking a long walk towards north to the hilly region. Night stay at the beach is not so comfortable due to the deficiencies of suitable accommodations. There have few cheap guesthouses and house rental by the inhabitants. Better option is to book a hotel room at Anjuna or Calangute.
Climate at Arambol Beach
The climate of Arambol Beach remains hot and humid except in winter and receives heavy rain due to the proximity of Arabian Sea. Best season is winter when temperature stay pleasant.
Summer at Arambol: Usually, this season persists for a long times (March to late-June) at Arambol Beach. Temperature may reach up to 36°C with a high humidity in May. Average temperature during this season is about 28°C.
Monsoon at Arambol: Usually, monsoon is continued from June to September at Arambol Beach. Due to the proximity of Arabian Sea this city receive heavy rainfalls and some thunder storms during this season. Average annual rainfalls of Arambol are approximately 291 cm.
Winter at Arambol: Usually, winter season of Arambol Beach persists for a short terms (December to February) with a pleasant temperature. Average temperature during this season varies from 15°C to 29°C.
How to reach at Arambol?
Travel by Airway: There have only one Airport in Goa located at Dabolim about 63 km away from Arambol Beach. It is an international airport and the international flights from the country of Qatar, Dubai, Sharjah, Kuwait, Britain, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, and the major cities of India are available here. After reaching to this airport you can easily reach to Arambol with a root bus or any four wheeler car.
Travel by Roadway: Arambol beach is located about 49 km away from Panaji and 31 km from Mapusa. Mapusa Bus Station is the nearest big station from the Beach. So, you need to first reach at Mapusa (via) then travel to Arambol with local transports. Other important landmark close to Arambol Beach is Chopdem which is located about only 11 km away from the beach.
Travel by Railway: Nearest rail station of Arambol is located at Thivim (Thivim Railway Station) about 34 km away from the beach. It takes around 40 minutes to reach hear by bus, you can also hire a private car to reach here.
