The state Jharkhand covered an area of 23,605 sq km with thick forest or jungle, which constitutes near about 29.61% of the total area. The government of the state has built several national parks, Zoological gardens and wildlife sanctuaries to protect the flora and fauna of the state. Some of these are the Betla National Park of Latehar district, the Palamau Tiger Reserves, The Hazaribag Wildlife Sanctuary and Jawaharlal Nehru Zoological Garden at Bokaro City.

How and where to go?
Travel by Road: Jharkhand is well connected by two National Highways namely NH-23 and NH-33. These Highways and several state highways have connected the state to the other major cities of India.
Travel by Air: If you planned to go Jharkhand by airway then the airport of Ranchi would be the one and only suitable destination to you. This airport is connected by regular flights with the major cities of India like Kolkata, Patna, Mumbai and New Delhi.
Travel by Rail: Railway transport of the state is also good. The railway station of Ranchi is most important in Jharkhand. Other major railway stations of the state placed at Patna, Rourkela and Hazaribagh.
