Lodi Garden or Lodhi Garden in Delhi
Lodhi garden is located in Delhi about 3 km away from Humayun's Tomb between Khan Market and Safdarjung's Tomb. It is a big garden covers an area of about 91 acres where several small tombs or monuments (like Muhammad Shah's Tomb, Sikander Lodi's tomb, Sheesh Gumbad and Bara Gumbad) are situated. These tombs was constructed during 15th to 16th centuries by the rulers of Sayyid and Lodhi Dynasty. Sayyid dynasty (from 1414 to 1451) was the fourth dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate and the Lodhi Dynasty (from 1451 to 1526) was the last Sultanate of Delhi.
During British rule Lodi Garden was known as Lady Willingdon’s Park. Willingdon was the wife of Governor-General of India. This garden was renamed after Independence as the Lodi Garden or Lodhi Garden. This garden is now protected by the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) and it also re-deigned by JA Stein and Garrett Eckbo in 1968 to give the present looks. Today Lodi Bagh is a favorite destination of Delhi local joggers and morning walkers. This garden is also a popular address of lover couples and older citizens at evening.

Mohammed Shah’s Tomb is placed at the south-west corner of the Lodi Garden. The tomb was constructed honor to Mohammed Shah (third Sayyid ruler) in 1444 ad by Ala-ud-din Alam Shah who was the last ruler of Sayyid dynasty.
Sikander Lodi's tomb was constructed by his son Ibrahim Lodi in 1517 ad. Ibrahim Lodi was the last Sultan of Delhi sultanate who was defeated by Babur at the first battle of Panipat in 1526.
Bara Gumbad is placed at the middle of Lodhi garden. Bara Gumbad means the Big Dome which is placed which is considered as a gateway of a mosque attached to the dome. It was constructed in 1494 by Sikander Lodi.
Sheesh Gumbad is placed at the opposite of Bara Gumbad. It means the Glass dome. This gumbad was built by Sikander Lodi. It also looks like the Bara Gumbads except the glazed blue tiles which covered the dome.
Athpula is a beautiful bridge constructed during Mughal age by Nawab Bahadur in the 16th century, during Akbar's rule. National Bonsai Park is also a must watch place in Lodi Bagh.

Travel by Roadways Delhi roadway network is well connected to other neighboring states and you will get daily basis thousands of buses and private cars from and to the city. Lodi garden is close to Connaught Place. After reaching Connaught Place you can make a walk for the garden.
Travel by Railways New Delhi Railway Station is the closest from Lodi Bagh (Bhag means Garden). You can reach to the station from any other states of India. After reaching to this station you can travel with a bus or hire a car to this garden. JLN Stadium and Jor Bagh metro are nearby metro stations to Lodi Gardens. Both metro stations are located around 1.8 km from Lodhi Gardens.
