India Gate & Rajpath
India Gate: It is a stone made architecture about 160 ft high with an arch of 137 ft and it covers an area of 306001 meter² with the diameter of about 625 meters. India Gate, on the way of Rajpath (Royal Street), is one of the most prominent parts of Delhi and also in India. It was constructed during colonial age (British) in 1931 by the architect Sir Edwin Lutyens (designer of Delhi City). After Indian independent it was dedicated to Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during World War I and the Third Anglo-Afghan War.
Rajpath: It (Raja means king and Path means way or street) is the central avenue of Delhi and it extended from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate. This road is about 3 km long and its eastern end meets to India Gate and western end meets to two Secretariat buildings. The both sides of Rajpath are decorated with lovely large green lawns and beautiful ponds which make the surrounding environment fresh and cool. That is why a large number of locals come here to spend some beautiful moments during the scorching summer season of Delhi.
Republic Day Celebration: Every year on the day of 26th January a Grand National festival is organized on the Rajpath. This day is known as Prajatantra Dibash or Republic Day of India. On this occasion a splendid parade starts from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate and finally it reach to Red Fort. This festival attracts thousands of people to watch the parade by Indian defense and it also a ground from where India exposed its cultural diversity and military strength to outer world.

Travel by Airways
If you planned to visit Delhi by airways then the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) would be suitable destination to you. It is located just 22 km away from India Gate and Rajpath. There have also a domestic airport at Palam just 4 km away from India gate. Delhi Indira Gandhi International airport receives both the domestic and the international flights.
Travel by Railways
Delhi railway network is very well connected to all the major cities of India. There are two major raiway station in the city; one is located at New Delhi about 4.5 km away from India gate or Rajpath and another station is located at old Delhi about 8 km away. You will get lots of passenger cars just outside the railway station.
Travel by Roadways
Being the capital city of India, Delhi is most important and busiest place in the country and maximum of major cities of north India are directly connected to the city by a well roadway route. Regular bus services from Uttar Pradèsh, Punjab, Háryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are available to the city.
