Chandipur Sea Beach, Orissa
Chandipur (properly known as Chandipur on Sea Beach) is a small sea beach on the Bay of Bengal located about 16.5 km away from the Balasore Railway Station. The sea recedes by about five km every day on the beach during ebb and returns to fill the emptiness during high tide. This hide-and-seek of the sea comes to play twice a day. Due to this uniqueness, the beach supports a varied range of biodiversity. You will find here some rare species of fishes like Horseshoe crab, shells, shell fish and star fishes on the beach towards Mirzapur and at the confluence of the Budhabalanga River. The sea at Chandipur has no undercurrent or quick sands and you can splash water as much as you like.
The Chandipur beach falls in the Integrated Test Zone of Indian Defense Research and Development Organization. Several nuclear-capable missiles have been launched here for testing including the Akash, Agni, Shurya and Prithvi. This research centre is highly confidential and its integrated Test Range also not reachable for common tourists. The tourist zone of Chandipur Beach is not affected by the D.R.D.O. integrated test range and visitors can move here fearlessly. When the waters disappear and the sea is exposed one can make a long walk on it. Being a quite and peaceful beach resort with its lovely sand dunes, wild creepers and Kasuriana trees whistling in the breeze Chandipur provide you a special charm that no one would find ever.

Travel by Roadways
Chandipur Beach is well connected to Balasore (16 km away) by Roadways. Further Balasore is frequently connected to other major cities of India including the Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Orissa. This tourist destination is linked to other important places through the NH-5.
