Initially Tadoba National Park- often referred as the ‘Jewel of Vidharba’ was a reserve during 1935 but later on in 1955 it was declared as a National Park. Situated in Chandrpur—the North Eastern part of Maharashtra, this wildlife sanctuary is one of the greatest attractions to people in their Maharashtra tour. Exploring the Tadoba National Park

The national park stretches around 623 sq. km consisting two rectangular lands of the Andheri range and Tadoba. The north-western part of the jungle is bordered with the hills. Towards the south-west of the tiger reserve a huge lake - said to be the main focal point of the jungle is situated. The park is named after ‘Taru’- the local god. The park ends nearly to the banks of the Irai Lake. The wildlife reserve is rich with rare trees and some endangered species. There are around fifty tigers dwelling in this forest. You can see hyenas, jungle cats, civet, barking deer and many rare Indian and migrated birds. Snakes and crocodiles are found in the marshy lands.
