Dehradun, literally mean "the place for camp (Dera - camp and Doon - Valley)", is situated in the Doon Valley on the foothills of the Himalayas nestled between the rivers Ganges and Yamuna. The city serves as the capital city of Uttarakhand and also the administrative headquarters of Dehradun District.
