Paytm was founded by Mr. Vijay Shekhar Sharma in the year of 2010 as an online payment system and digital wallet, based out of Noida, India. Paytm mobile app is available in 11 Indian languages and it provides different types of payment services like mobile recharges, utility bill payments, movies or travel ticket bookings, restaurant, hotel, toll, pharmacies, cab, departmental stores, etc. bill payments.

In August 2015, Paytm received a payment banking license from Reserve Bank of India. And in November 2017, Paytm Payments Bank starts its journey as a Payment Bank. The Paytm Payments Bank is a separate entity with Paytm and Paytm founder Mr. Vijay Shekhar Sharma holds about 51% share of it and One97 Communication is 39% shareholder of this banking part.
