Zakir Hussain Memorial Hall

Dr Zakir Hussain, 3rd President of India, was born in 1897 on 8th February. He was very brilliant and sincere in his student life and took an important role to establish a National Muslim University by the name of Jamia Millia Islamia. Professionally Dr. Zakir Hussain was a teacher of Jamia Millia Islamia University and he was awarded Padma Vibhushan (1954) and India's highest honor Bharat Ratna (1963). He was elected President of India in 1967 on 13th May. This great man was died in 1969 on 3rd May.

After his death may in 1972 the authority body of Jamia Millia Islamia University has constructed a Memorial Museum in the University campus near Okhla Industrial Estate to dedicate him. It is a small museum and contains a wide range of photographs, memorabilia, geological specimens and souvenirs collected by Dr. Zakir Hussain.
